TE 100/101/120 Applicant

TE 100/101/120, EXPLORING TEACHING, (or its accepted equivalent from another University) is required to apply to the Teacher Education Program. The purpose of this course is to help students realize what is involved in choosing a career in teaching. Students examine the belief that a teacher is primarily an instructional decision-maker. The field component provides a realistic view of public school students, curriculum, and the varied skills needed to function effectively and efficiently as a decision-maker in the classroom. You will also examine the requirements for admission into the Teacher Education Program as well as examine the Disposition and Evaluation Rubrics used by the Office Clinical Experiences throughout your field work.

TE 100/101/120 - Exploring Teaching, or TE 101- Exploring Teaching in Physical Education, or TE 120 - Explorations in Education must be successfully completed or in progress during the semester you are applying to the Teacher Education Program. Most students take the course their sophomore year.

It cannot be stressed enough how important proper grammar, spelling, and punctuation are in this, and any, application. This application will be reviewed by administrators and teachers alike. All spaces need to be completed including phone number and local address. Your experience with youth, teaching characteristics and hobbies need to be written in narrative form, not lists. The Academic Record should be a listing of the courses you have taken with credits. Do NOT copy and paste your course listing from Cardinal Direct. Type a listing of the courses you have taken with course titles, not numbers (e.g., instead of ENGL 111, list Composition I)
